Rangzen bracelets
Hand made by members of Gu Chu Sum, the Tibetan ex-political prisoners association in Dharamsala, India. Originally made by political prisoners from the threads of their prison uniforms in prisons around Lhasa, Rangzen (freedom) bracelets quickly became a popular symbol of resistance to the Chinese occupation in Tibet. The weave design is similar to the famous "dzi" eye beads which are believed to protect the wearer. $5 each
